Volume V, Issue 2 :: May 2011
Dear Supporter,
I wanted to thank you for your sponsorship of the True North Golf Tournament on July 19, 2011. I also want to give you an update from my trip to Guatemala last week and what we are sometimes able to
accomplish!
I revisited a village where I had put on a clinic in March. Almost all the children had been covered in scabies then, so we instituted a new treatment protocol combining oral and topical treatment for scabies.
When I returned last week none of the children had any scabies lesions.
We feel we had a very successful result from our treatment
protocol.

This twelve year old girl had been covered with over 100 scabies lesions even up on her neck and into the hairline.
There were no lesions anywhere five weeks later.

This baby had been covered from head to toe, even the palms and soles with scabies. It had also caused hair loss. I was pleasantly surprised with the
baby's improvement. Look at that black hair growing back.
There is good news with Fernando's case. While there we helped him get both his birth certificate and his passport. Now we are starting the medical visa process. My partner in this, Synergy Medical, and I are hopeful his surgery can be done in June in Saginaw, Michigan.
Picture: Fernando with a large bony tumor on his
hip.

Best wishes to all of you.
